The park is situated in a 23-17 hectares land and the project generates a power of 12,4 million KWh per year, which will provide electricity to 5,000 houses and will avoid more than 4,100,000 TCo2 emissions to the atmosphere. The solar plant, which is now built and working, is worth more than 30 million Euros coming from the investment fund ABRAXA IFS-LONGSOL. The multinational TSK was in charge of the works and the company Eosol assisted the technical direction.

The IRTIC, Instituto de Robótica, develops an innovative system of presentation for ceramic products The Universitat de València’s Instituto de Robótica y Tecnología de las Comunicaciones (IRTIC), located at Parc Científic, has developed an innovative low cost system of presentation of ceramic products combining virtual reality and augmented reality technologies. The institute has been working for two years in the project, which is financed by TAU CERÁMICA. The tile manufacturer hopes to integrate this system in the short term in its stores.

IFIC’s scientifics collaborate in an international research to draw the largest 3D coloured map of the universe. A group of researchers from the Institute for Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), a CSIC and Universitat de València’s joint centre located at the Universitat’s Parc Científic, heads a pioneer research which determines the most accurate restriction of neutrino’s mass having data on the distribution of galaxies in the universe. The main conclusion states that the addition of the three types of neutrinos mass does not represent more than a 6 per thousand of the total of the cosmos’ mass-energy. Thus, the mass of this particle should not exceed 0,26 electron volts, 2 million times smaller than the electron’s mass.

A group of researchers from the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA), CSIC, in the Science Park of the University of Valencia, have just deciphered the genetic control mechanisms that operate in case of iron deficiency. The study was led by Sergi Puig (IATA) and published in the journal Molecular Cell. The research was made in collaboration with researchers from the University of Valencia and University of Colorado (USA). It opens up new prospects for the development of strategies within the areas of health and nutrition.

On Tuesday, 22 November, Pasquale Migliozzi offered a conference at the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC) at the University of Valencia Science Park. The Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), a joint centre of the Scientific Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Valencia (UV), held a meeting (ending 4 November) of international collaboration, NEXT, in order to build a detector to prove, for the first time, the existence of a rare process occurring in neutrinos called "double beta disintegration without neutrinos." The meeting will decide the final design of the xenon gas detector to be installed in the Canfranc Underground Laboratory (Huesca) beginning in 2013.

Wednesday, 20 April, 2011 - The chancellor of the University of Valencia, Esteban Morcillo, has signed a collaboration agreement with three companies for the creation and development of a high-quality massive sequencing platform, MULTIGEN, at the facilities of the University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV). MULTIGEN will develop genetic diagnosis focused on improving the health of women, as well as a nutrigenomics platform.

40 companies from the Valencian Community competed for the award sponsored by "la Caixa" and co-awarded by the National Innovation Enterprise (ENISA), attached to the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, which has two categories: EmprendesXXI and CrecesXXI.
• Bioncotech, a company housed at the University of Valencia Science Park and focused on the research and development of a new cancer therapy for the treatment of aggressive tumors such as metastatic melanoma, glioblastoma, bladder cancer and pancreatic cancer, won in the category EmprendesXXI and will receive 5,000 Euros and a scholarship to attend the Ignite Fast Track course at the University of Cambridge.
• TSB Technologies for Health and Wellbeing, winner in the category CrecesXXI, will receive a scholarship for an intensive course for growing companies, designed and taught by ESADE and IESE, as well as a visit to Silicon Valley.
The chancellor of the University of Valencia, Esteban Morcillo, brought to a close the 2nd annual meeting of the European Consortium of Microbial Resources Centres (EMbaRC) organized by the Spanish Collection of Type Cultures (CECT), with the participation of eight European collections of microbial cultures and talks given by prominent political and institutional leaders involved in the use and conservation of microorganisms.

Since last January, the Science Park of the University of Valencia has had an area especially designed for receiving innovatory small business projects of one or two workers and which are in their early stage. The so-called Business Seedbed proposes a new office concept, halfway between the virtual address and the individual office that facilitates the exit of entrepreneurial ideas in a shared space and under the shelter of a great development for innovation. There are already eight proto-businesses that have been initiated in this collaboration environment full of synergies, with minimum costs and a lot of common benefits.
At the University of Valencia Science Park, José María Mateu explained the factors that enable innovative companies to succeed in the marketplace.

On commencement day, members of the 49k Association presented the 49k Contest program. In this phase training workshops are offered, taught by top-level speakers and entrepreneur mentors, one of whom will be assigned to each of the 25 teams to help them develop, within two months, a business plan for their project. These plans will be evaluated and 10 teams will reach the finals on 24 May, when the winners will be announced in a public presentation.

Valencia, 9 February 2011. This afternoon a group of 50 High School (Spain’s “ESO” and “Bachillerato”) science students visited the University of Valencia Science Park facilities. They were coming from Xabia’s IES (high school) Antonio Llidó and Gata IES (high school) and were leaded by their teachers María Rosario Pons Pérez (Physics and Chemistry teacher), José María Villalba (Technology teacher) and José Pedro Mestre (Physics and Chemistry teacher).
First of all they visited the Astronomical Observatory (OAUV), afterwards, the Institute of Particle Physics (IFIC) and the Cavanilles Institute for Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology (ICBiBE), where they were shown around the aquarium area. Last, they were given a talk about the companies in the Science Park, which lodges more than 60 innovative and technology-based companies.
