LIFESEQUENCING

(Biotechnology, Medicine and Health)

Introduction

LIFESEQUENCING was created with the objective of making available to the scientific community all the novel and exclusive applications for genomic research and massive DNA sequencing, from the preparation of samples and libraries to the subsequent bio-informatic analysis and interpretation of data, making use of the sequencing platform more in line with the application to be analysed.

It is a company created by Biopolis S.L. (www.biopolis.es), a bio-technology company specialised mainly in industrial production and purification of micro-organisms and metabolites, and Secugen S.L. (www.secugen.es), a company specialised in DNA sequencing and molecular diagnostics.

It provides all its clients with quick solutions, high value and quality results, as well as the support of a qualified team.  It has the ISO 9001: 2008 and CSPRO certifications (certified official service) of the main brands of massive sequencing platforms.

Technology offer

Technical Specifications
  • In 2007, the company acquired Roche's 454 Genome Sequencer FLX platform, becoming the first installed and operating system in Spain for mass sequencing.
  • Its staff has participated in numerous trainings and has a long experience in this type of sequencing, which has allowed it to adapt quickly to other 2nd generation sequencing platforms.
  • It has the latest generation platforms such as FLX +, Illumina Hiseq, SOLID 5500xl and Ion Torrent PGM, which allow them to select the best equipment for their clients' objectives.  Currently it can address both de novo genome projects and re-sequencing projects in a more competitive fashion.
  • The organisation, through collaborations with bio-informatics centres at the highest level, has allowed it to offer a high quality bio-informatics service.
  • Since 2010, it has an in-house bio-informatics analysis department, headed by a specialist who has had numerous post-doctoral posts and is an expert in bio-informatics.
