EOLAB is a small R&D company created in February 2006 as a University of Valencia spin-off, by doctors and professors with extensive experience in Earth physics, and remote sensing for the study of the environment, including atmospheric correction, models of radiative transfer, obtaining geo-biophysical parameters, calibration and validation of remote sensing products, and environmental studies through the use of remote sensing.
The company is located in the field of Earth observation from satellite (remote sensing), particularly in surface applications (biosphere) oriented to the environment, land management, agriculture, soils and management of natural resources, in the context of Sustainable Development and Global Change. Its main field of expertise is linked to validation, being an entity specialised in the estimation and quality control of satellite products.
In recent years they have been consolidated in operational programmes of Earth Observation, such as LSA SAF of EUMETSAT, Copernicus Global Land Service and different cal/val (calibration and/or validation) initiatives of the European Space Agency (ESA). They participate extensively in the activities of validation of satellite products, being an active part of the working group of Validation of Surface Products (Land Product Validation) of the CEOS, the organism that groups the main space agencies.
