The way we understand epidemics has evolved over time. We now have the ability to sequence entire populations of pathogens, identify their genetic differences and trace links between them in a matter of days. This allows us to observe at an unprecedented resolution the evolution of a pathogen at different scales, from global expansion to local outbreak with a direct impact on the management of the epidemic.
Iñaki Comas, director of the Tuberculosis Genomics Unit at the Institute of Biomedicine of Valencia (IBV-CSIC), will address the study of tuberculosis pathogens and SARS-CoV-2 in the lecture Using genomics to track global health pathogens: genomics to track global health pathogens, which will take place on Friday, April 30 at 12:30 pm. Access to this seminar organized by the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC) will be through the following link: https://zoom.us/j/92362489679?pwd=a2tHS010UU12VTBvOGpxQWs1K1ptUT09.
At the end of the talk, there will be a question and answer session, which can be done through the session chat or by activating the camera and microphone for those who wish to ask a question.
