One of the Science Park´s greatest values is the Industrial, Materials and Nano-technology area, both for the profile of participating companies and for the scientific profile of its research institutes. Its developments in optical fibers, lasers, solar cells and chemical sensors, among others, are being applied in commercial sectors as diverse as agri-food, bio-medicine, environmental sciences and the cosmetics industry, amongst others.
In this vein, the control of matter at the nano-scale is a scientific and technological challenge that will permit the creation of new or improved materials with electrical, magnetic, optical, mechanical and chemical properties. These properties will allow the development of new electronic devices, both optical and magnetic, and new bio-compatible, bio-degradable, lighter and economic materials.
