Communication Workshop: 'From paper to news in times of clickbait'

23/09/2020

Today, scientific and technological communication is a requirement for organizations, entities and companies, especially for those that receive economic support to carry out research, development and innovation. National and international projects financed with public and private funds have the obligation, established in the bases of the aids received, to disseminate to society the results obtained by their research and entrepreneurial teams and the beneficial impact that such work generates. Communication also strategically positions research groups and innovative companies in their fields of activity.

Therefore, guiding and training in this social communication the 1,500 professionals who work in the University of Valencia Science Park is the main objective of COMUNICA-INNOVA [ción], a project that is promoted by the University of Valencia Science Park Foundation with the support of the Generalitat Valenciana in 2020.

How will we do it? Through the organization of online and face-to-face workshops -depending on their characteristics- which will be addressed:

  • writing and sending press releases to agencies and general and specialized media
  • the design of a reference media agenda in their sectors, national and international, generalist and specialized.
  • the practice of different communication skills, both oral and written.
  • the analysis of the different languages of journalistic genres and how to deal with them: a news item, a chronicle, an interview, an essay, an opinion piece and a report.
  • the learning of audiovisual resources through the knowledge of the basic rules of framing, lighting and sound.
  • the position of the research group's or company's brand in the digital society through the management of accounts in social networks and the creation of blogs
